So, what did I miss?

People rolling for bad territories.
I interpereted their moves, then I said "fuck it" and ignored the bad territories, and then I said "fuck it" and ignored the entire post.
As a result, the turns as you generate them will probably be different to the turns as I generated them. Your opinion supercedes. I've posted a few maps in the turn thread to give you an idea of where I -think- the game is at, but they're not necessarily accurate.
People rolling for land they just captured last turn
People attacking each-other when not at war
That type of thing.
Lanun's been mostly dissolved.
House Illumin has not been attacked.

Honestly I'm cool with it, but I doubt the game will play out any differently. The only difference will be in the specifics, as we basically 3v1'd Lanun when every single one of the 3 was bigger than him.

Yeah. The whole "Zerg rush a single guy" strategy makes this game not very fun. With the current mechanics (which I still feel are a bit vague after rolling the dice [needs some examples for war]) don't really work well for multifronted war.


Also: Do I keep my gold? And does rolling a defense/attack dice reduce your turn rolls?

I think we could try to all play like Empire Total war or something next game, and for battles just go on Steam and play a game aqainst each other.

Next game I propose we ban declaring war on a country that's already in war; support may only be given through trades and ally dice.

This wasn't a problem in NG2 because everyone generally behaved; this game and the last game have been more of a free-for-all with everybody jumping directly into war and nobody even considering ally dice.

In fact, I think we should return to basic NG2 rules, but with resources (and more restrictive rules on territory trading). We've tried removing steamrolling and it just causes more problems.

This is mostly a modified version of NG2 rules; the only thing we really need to do is ban multi-front wars and it'll be pretty close to NG2 with resources.

I think I will likely be skipping NG5.

Yeah, me too. RulesWar seems way too prevalent with any non-specific rule.
