Nation Game 4: Diplomacy (Setting/Fluff) Thread

William Illumin, head of the Illumin family, has announced that he has been betrothed to Isabella Zorsica. The marriage will serve to unite the Illumin and Zorsican Houses, of which William and Isabella are the heads of, respectively. The two seem to have fallen head-over-heels in love with eachother, and plan on having the marriage occur within the month. The most expensive, extravagant wedding possible is in the works, and the best planners from across the globe are being tapped.

(The Zorsica family was once on of the three greatest houses, but has fallen into mediocrity in recent years. They have a strong emphasis on manufacturing and banking, and there physical holdings primarily lie in the central peninsula region.)

NEWS OUTBREAK, on the scene is our reporter Trisha Takanawka

"Trisha can you describe to us now what you are seeing in the Anralette provinces?"


"Yes Bob, what we are seeing now is the complete collapse of their trading system, revolts are accruing in the streets, large numbers of civilians have equipped themselves and formed resistance movements to the local government." *a cloud of gas can be seen in the distance, engulfing people as it moves towards the camera crew*

"Trisha what is that behind you?"

"Tom I don't know, but I think i can hear screams coming from it, let me see if we can get a closer look"

*the camera zooms out as they approach the approaching gas cloud, the screams getting louder, then silence as they are on the cusp of the gas cloud, The camera now only broadcasting the screams of the camera crew and the eerie green fog cloud.

Footsteps can be herd as the cloud clears you see a group of armed men, one raising the banner of a long dead foe, a Red flag bearing a single Golden star. These armed insurgents seam to be using an ancient stockpile of both gas weapons and the protection systems.

*one of the gas masked insurgents picks up the camera and points it to an insurgent with a peaked hat then handing him the microphone*

"Comrades of all the nations, we are what remains of the Commentern, we wish to bring back the equ- Fizzing as the screen turns from fuzzy black and white, then to a technical difficulties scene.

Recent trading with Fist convoys has ground to a halt today as members of the insurgent regime 'Commentern' assault newly developed colonies and trade sites all over Mt Helena. The gas attacks occurred at 8:17 AM this cycle at the foot of the mountain before spreading up to the summit. Trade transports were leaving the mountain were also targeted in the attack.

'We can officially state that trade will be ceasing for the time being as both necessity and a mark of respect to those who lost their lives during the attack. We will do our utmost to make sure trade resumes as soon as it is possible and safe to do so'

As of 1300 hours next cycle we shall begin full mobilisation of armed forces and institute a military lock down on the colonies. Primary targets are [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. There is a high chance of insurgent fighters hiding in Zicom boarders, to address this we shall freeze colonial expansion there and switch to military construction. To aid in boarder patrols we are granting permission for stationed commanders to use the new 'AB-11 Mantis Main Battle Tank' as well as a regiment of powered armour users.

House Illumin, fearing escalation of the terrorism occuring in southern lands, seeks to provide any aid necessary to House Anralette to prevent furthering of the conflict.

House Anralette will have the full support of Illumin military in the unstable Mt. Helena region.

The Zicom Iniatiate is appauled at the thought that we would harbor COMMUNISTS, we were one of the original houses to overthrow the communist rule over the red planet. On that same note, we have not done anything militaristic towards your nation, and the thought that we have is also appalling, War is not Profitable therefore we seek not to become involved with it.

The new Communist threat is not only a problem for you, but once the seeds of communism have been laid in an area there will be more insurgencies, we are only working in the best interests of the entire globe when we secured our boarder. We know how to deal with these insurgencies and they will be dealt with.

I choose whatever non-specific option allows me to continue receiving resource 'b' without starting a diplomatic incident. Preferably peace if it is an option.

The Master of the Order sends a message to both sides of the developing conflict. He does not call for peace or interhouse unity. No he calls for both sides to prove their right, their worth, on the field of battle. And reminds them that the order of the hunt is available for a fee.

The Organization has begun planning for the now-seemingly-inevitable war. When the world is ended in a fiery explosion, the Organization will be there to make money from it. No official declaration of alliance has been made, however.

The Black Knights are organized at the borders of all Organization colonies, and the Isle has been put under full lock-down.

So war's inevitable? Hm. Guess I'd better avoid getting backstabbed. Which side of the war is the most trustworthy?

Peace has finally returned to Mt Helena as armed forces have made crackdowns on several key militia hideouts and bases. This calm, however, is mired in doubt as the boarders Zicom-Anralette boarder tensions simmer over, small skirmishes with militia have been reported and Anralette is indefatigable in the defence of their boarders. Head of House, Torrem Anralette has met with Zicom leaders but talks progress slowly with no sign of a treaty being formed any time soon.

Abraham Illumin was shot dead today in a duel at dawn. The fiery young noble fought Gregory Zorsica in a honorable duel, pistols at dawn. Abraham had reportedly offended the Zorsican noble with some disparaging comments about his mother. When asked for comment, both noble houses elaborated that though unfortunate, "boys will be boys" and there is nothing illegal about an honor-duel.

Let that be a lesson, if you think old Daphne Zorsica looks like her face caught on fire, and someone tried to put out the fire with a fork, keep it to yourself. Those Zorsica boys are good with a gun!

Anralette forces are turned back at the boarder, Zicom has held our peace by ourselves... you on the other hand have Communists roaming in your territories. The only army permitted within our boarders is those of ourselves.
