i would blow it up, for Religion is the opiate of the masses... it must be stopped, and the true word of the state put in its place... i say blow it to hell.

We've not attacked anyone and you are attacking our nation, that makes you the aggressor as a matter of fact. As for the communists, I wished them no ill will, simply that they not spread their dangerous ideas within our borders, a circumstance that would be nigh unavoidable as allies. And for the armies, only a fool would leave themselves defenseless in such a world as this; it is not as though I am amassing some great force, merely getting near where others stand. And for France, if imperialists had been so cruel to you as they've been to my people, you would understand our feelings towards them; they are deserving of every bit of our scorn.

you sir are cruel.. for not letting your people throw off the chains of oppression, Religion, and let them become Comrades

My people are free to choose whichever religion they wish; Hinduism, Muslim, or even to be godless heathens! And you are hardly one to criticize the treatment of one's people! My subjects are kept prosperous through the right to their labors so long as they do not threaten the government that is the basis for the prosperity of the people; they do not receive rewards for their works irrespective of their effort but keep the lot of it! In your realm, you would take from the industrious to line the pockets of the lame and the lazy. In my land, people have the freedom to own and to earn; without this right, any others you might bestow are worth less than refuse.

That's assuming you consider the people and the nation one. He's spending gold domestically thus employing more people, so the people are going to be more prosperous.
Also let's be honest, everyone government in this discussion is based on some type of totalitarian system. From the brutal communistic Chinese government to the brutal Saudi kings.
Why should he be nice to france, they did declare neutrality than immediately attack someone.

in our system, the people are all equally prosperous in bot times of war and times of peace, our standard of living is all equal and those lame and lazy you spoke of, i do believe that Comrade Lennin said it best "one in every ten idlers will be shot" the lazy in our system do not get much if not anything. but everyone gets the same... everyone gets brotherhood, everyone gets to be free of the opiate that is Religion

I never claimed anything about that, just pointed our the irony of the green text.

Oh, I see you are as bad at lying as you are at accounting. A nation such as mine with no debt to speak of could not be farther from bankruptcy; cash on hand is a non-issue. And communism is a fools errand, your people will never be half as prosperous as they would under a government that respects their rights to property. You leave the people with no reason to work, nothing to strive for. In an ill-guided attempt to eradicate the poor you eradicated success as well, leaving only mediocrity.

If your people are comfortable with that mediocrity then that is their choice and your success, but I will not allow such a fate to befall my nation. At least you are honest and understand what you surrender for your current state of affairs, and for that at least I respect you.

And, at last your true colors are shown; you wish only to conquer and impose your will. All you have to strive for is the subjugation of others while using the cause to unite your country as only a war can. I can accept that and will fend off your hostility, but do not try and pretend that I am somehow the despicable one between us two.

Alternatively, I could note that you were building 3 armies to attack France, and be taking steps to protect both France and myself from -you-.

Perhaps I could believe your noble intent to defend the imperialists had you not already revealed your true motives, but now it is at best an excuse and at worst a bald-faced lie. And before you fling insults, you should first consider that both in words and in actions, your were the aggressor, not I; I was neither the first to fire bullets nor insults.

My response to you is basically this.

Yes, I have not denied my intent to attack the French; are you allies, then? If so, then I hope that we can reach some peace after I have annihilated them. If not, I'm not the aggressor in words or deeds, but if your are allies, then I suppose you would be well justified in rising to their defense and I could not fault you. So, which is it so that I may take note of it for future?

Your ass belongs to the French and I, and you'll be conquered on turn 6. Try not to declare war on your first turn vs. someone who is both right next to you and bigger than you. Your opinion is no longer relevant. Chairman Yang out.

Punapesh smiles. "It is a weak man who resorts to threats and violence when he finds that his words fail him. He cannot see the forest for the trees, for he seems to think that all that matters in this world is earthly strength. No, it will be through strategy and the good graces of Lord Vishnu that I and those who will call me friend shall arise victorious, not through brute force."

I beleive this is up to date as of this post. The results of the wars, and therefore the status of Dai Kasei Teikoku and The Grand Caliphate of New Kaaba, are still pending the actions of the victorious nations involved.

china- your cash calculation didnt subtract your 3gpt you pay to the garden of eden for their armies. i mean, sure you could just not pay them i guess, but im not sure if you will have a business partner much longer if you refuse to hold up your end of the deal. =) if you managed to score their eternal support for a one time payment of 3 gold, I award you INSTANT DIPLOMATIC VICTORY. farao

HMTK- china was right about non-war expansion costing double. taking 287 cost 11 gold. you can change your mind about it if you want, though it supplies you with uranium, which you otherwise dont have.

irishman- you seem to be overvaluing your gold by a consistent 2 per turn. I think you might be forgetting your army upkeeps, or another possibility counting resource spaces as giving you gold. You should have 19 rather than 23.

Should everyone who is able to follows through to buy up my land, I am officially defeated. I crafted the rules with the intent to make war difficult but simultaneously encourage it, and in that regard I consider this a success. Rolling to maintain my armies for a potential rebellion down the line.

Didn't I pay them on Turn 2 and Turn 3, for Turn 3 and Turn 4?
They're entertaining other offers for this turn. Specificly, they fight for whoever pays them the most. I've made my bid; whether it's the highest remains to be seen.

Also: Good rolls! 2 Armies of Rebellion are ready to strike against oppressors. ^_^

Btw, regarding economy matters:
I spent 6g on taking whatever territory the Free Goucho Republic doesn't take
The other 3g was sent to France last turn so they could cap 5 territories instead of 4, on the condition that I get 4g back this turn (the 3g given + the 1g the territory earns).

Meaning that, before cash was generated this turn, I started the turn with 0g*.
I should, in theory, get 4g from the french. I take 2 territories from japan - doesn't really matter which ones as they both give 2g.
I had 12 territories at turn start - 2 gold patches (284, 220), 1 capital, 3 resource tiles. That's 12g.
So, I can has 18g in totals with 14 lands pls pls? ^_^
That puts the cost of the next 4 conquered lands at 3g, 3g, 4g, 4g, 4g.

Regarding France, they're effectively gaining gold from 3 Caliphate lands + their 11gpt, minus their 2 armies. That lands them at 12 gold if they spend all their money taking land. They can effectively take 3 lands at 3g, 4g, 4g (they'll have 15 if they grab 5 this turn).

There are 8 lands still held by New Kaaba and India. ... So, Here's hoping we win. Smile

Ok, you just have to restrain yourself from trying to take everyone's turn for them.

I have fixed your line on the spreadsheet, but what others elect to do is for them to decide.

I guess I should send my 3rd army against New Kaaba, as they're defending with 4 armies.
1.4* for my own Iron and Rubber, Oil from the JCU and Uranium from the USSR.
Here's hoping for a 4 like last time.

"April 28, 1984.
The war was lost."

Admiral Yamamoto sat alone in his study. He didn't know what else to write. The Japanese forces had been defeated, crushed by the combined forces of what seemed like the entire world. Facing China was one thing, but the Japanese were unable to fend of the combined might of China, Russia, the Gauchos, American Mercenaries...even the Japanese Communist traitors reared their ugly heads. The Chantry forces, and some eleventh hour assistance from the Nazis, helped turn a overwhelming defeat into a close fight. Not to mention the fortunate circumstance that made the Chinese have to defend themselves on another front. None of it was close enough, though. None of it mattered.

"Emperor Masahito, forgive me. I am sorry."

Yamamoto was wracked with guilt, with shame. He wrote these last words and signed the bottom of the letter. It would never be delivered, he knew. He had completely and utterly failed as a leader. The sounds of the battle outside were cacophonously loud, but he couldn't hear them. He couldn't hear the sounds of shells exploding, of the communist tanks blowing up buildings. The screams of his people, his soldiers and civilians dying, fell on deaf ears. All that Admiral Yamamoto could hear were the words of his father, from decades earlier. Words he had only ever heard once, now repeating in Yamamoto's head like a broken record. Yamamoto opened his desk drawer and unsheathed the finely crafted Tanto within. The words of his father echoed in his head as Yamamoto, without hesitation, re-sheathed his blade in his stomach and gasped his last shameful breath.

"Son, I am disappoint."

(This fluff was written assuming all of my land was taken. Dai Kasei Teikoku has been dissolved, but elements of the nation remain solvent, in exile. Nationalists, calling themselves the Emperor's Sons, are living in secret within the city of Shinsei and surrounding hills, have 4 gold and 2 militia)
