Nation Game 3: To Pick A Map

It may still be a bit away, but I would like to begin kicking around ideas for Nation Game 3 early, so we don't have any downtime in between games. I think to determine what type of game we will run next time, we should just vote on the key issues. First up is the choice of map.

So what type of map would you like to play on next time? Multiple choice, pick 3-ish.

Also, general NG3 idea thread. "Setting" thread to come after the map is decided, and rules thread after that.

Modern Earth.

More room for nations based on actual countries.

Yeah our old map is just too small for a 20+ person game, and would have to be reworked.

I would vote if I could see what the prospective maps might actually look like. Do you have them to host somewhere?

I like the idea of the Middle East map, sort of a "cradle of civilization" game. Ancient dudes with spears and wicker shields fighting for the few scraps of arable land, and all that.

I was thinking of a U.S. one with all the counties as colonies. Dunno though, just a thought.

None of them exist yet.

Well, I would be willing to give my hand at crafting a Warhammer Fantasy map, though it isn't much different from a standard World map. Otherwise, I think the more exotic, the better. We're all awfully used to playing Risk or we know the geography in certain degrees about places, and while the history certainly works well in terms of fluff, a completely blank slate would be a very, very interesting experiment in describing not only your nations, but the land itself.

I don't know if people have the time/patience/attention to detail like that, but I would absolutely love it. Comedy Option B: 40K map that HMTK was talking about scanning waaay at the beginning of NG2

What about this map for the random? Made with Photoshop: clouds->level adjust->colors->manually surround border of map with ocean.

Not going to number or territory it unless this is a good map.

You can make the map look like anything with the clouds/levels. More land, more sea, seperated continents, islands, tell me what you want and I'll render it up. Less snaky/more solid, etc.

I dont know what to vote for but something bigger and a continuation of the fantasy Fantasy is fun!

Or a futuristic high tech earth, I dont know how that work although. Since high tech = space ship and so...so I go with Fantasy earth.

i say we keep this europe map, or maybe both europe and asia.

I vote for Middle East or the whole of the New World (South, Central and North america).
